That's strange, the console version should be a bit faster then the gui version. Especially on older/slower machines. All of the cpu power goes to crunching the WU, there isn't a bit that helps the graphics card making the picture, so the console version should be faster.

2. mbp cd 2.16ghz running at 40% CPU (used to be 80% but got too hot)
3. imac 2.8ghz running at 100% CPU (when dad doesnt stop it lol)

True that they should have produced a sequel, but Tecmo is known for building upon already released titles (DOA2 had SEVERAL "remakes"). Hopefully if this sells well, they'll actually produce a proper sequel. I'm guessing since sales were probably okay with the Xbox version, they wanted to try the PS3 market for a change. We'll see what happens.
Such a shame really, as it was a brilliant game. NG is the only other game besides Halo I ever played on my Xbox.
Double shame I won't be able to play it on my 360 either.

If these predictions are correct then Apple is finished. They need to get everything to at least 1ghz, iMac, eMac, and get g4's in their iBooks, or they are going to lose even more people.

At least AppleP58 had some details and a schematic drawing. This guy is not offering much to bite on.
Maybe the G5 is coming but it could just be a newer variant of the G4, the 7470 or 7500, with some new technolgoies like RapidI/O and/or Hypertransport. Throw in FW2 and some other new stuff, and Apple might feel justified in calling it a G5.

You argument had something going for it up until the end where it just fell appart. I sorry but a compared a $1000 HDTV to lets say a $2000+ of the same size and you see a very noticible diffence in quillity.

The trouble with DRM is that it often affects the average Joe consumer more than it hurts those it's intended to stop.
CDs that don't play in a PC annoy Joe Public who buys a CD and wants to listen to it on his office PC while at work. The guy who planned on pirating it can easily get round the DRM and go on his merry way.
DRM embedded in iTunes annoy Joe Public who burned a track onto his wedding video and now can't distribute it to the wedding guests without working out an authorise/deauthorise schedule.
The record companies assume everyone is out to be a criminal while the 'criminals' don't bother buying DRMed files or strip out protection and do what they want so just as many files end up on P2P networks and on dodgy CDs on street corners.
Therein lay the problem. Most people are using the music illegally.

In your own analogy of Joe Public burning a track on his wedding video.
Guess what? when he distributes those copies to wedding guests he breaks the law.
It's illegal for him to do that. It is stealing. He pirated it.
The problem is we have become so used to stealing that we don't recognize it as such anymore. We justify it away.

Yes, no uninvited noise when I arrive at a web page, please. I often hit the mute button as soon as I hit such a page, but pages with videos that start are also wasting bandwidth and slowing down my system whether I'm interested in their movie or not. Stop that! Bad webmaster! :rolls up newspaper:

have windows boxes talking to that server. also went and pinged it from several different domains/ips. no problems here.
what changed? was working? new install?
had a similar problem with two new install boxes. turned out to be a checkmark in the 'use IE settings' box. removed the check, restated the service, and it's been good since. just a thought.
stanford shows that server as up and functional. as of now.
