64-bit color depth would presumably mean 16-bit fields
for RGB and one for Alpha
fwiw, The typical color space for film and high-quality
broadcast video is 10-bit per channel (RGBA = 40bit).
Now whether that 10 bits/channel of info is contained
(or how it's calculated) in 16-bit space (or 40 in 64)
I'm not entirely sure.

They may say that since 97% of the UK population has, or should have, a licence, limiting it to UK IP addresses should be sufficient. After all, most of the 3% without a TV (excluding BV of course) may not have any interest in watching TV on their computer either.
I don't really... the appeal of it just doesn't grab me. I'm happy watching DVDs of the series I really want to see anyway which are usually HBO-type things that usually turn up on C4...
I wonder how the whole downloading programmes thing will tie in with iPods if at all? The BBC and Apple have a prior relationship and I wonder what moves they may make to incorporate the iTMS.

Entirely depends on what you want out of the game. If you want to go after the very top end rewards then you will have to group together to get them, and invest a severe amount of time doing so.
However, it sounds like you play exactly the same way I do. Blizzard have put a lot of effort into making WoW accessible for the solo/casual player, and there is a vast amount of content that you can easily and enjoyably play in the way you want. You are in no way penalised for not being part of a guild or for not participating in raids etc. I am up to level 50 and I have played very much in the way you have described and enjoyed every minute of it.
I would say give it a go.

hey dukestreet,
this guy is from IBM though(so i don't know if he would already know what apple is going to call the chip), maybe the DONE DEAL is in relation to the power4 lite and he was saying that they are also developing the power5. either way they are both 64 bit chips... they are IBM... and they WILL be in macs next year or two... and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!:D :D
But your logic does make alot of sense.....:) i can see it being that as well

Apple won't be using this 970 anytime soon. 2005 at best, if ever. A new chipset would be required, plus tons of new drivers and all software would be have to rewritten to be fully optimized. Not likely to happen in such a depressed tech sector we got.
Motorola is all we can pray for now. Motorola needs to stop monkeying around, get off their duffs, stop drinking imported champaigne, and go to Intel and license some of their tech to get the G4 clock speed up to 3GHZ, ASAP. If they did that, we could easily see dual 3GHZ G4s or G5s PowerMacs in January 2003. That is the most viable, fastest, and cheapest solution for both Apple and Motorola.

worst case scenario:
doubling of speeds and still stuck on G5, or next processor past the current G4
best case scenario:
best case scenario - more than triple the speeds and be on G6 or whatever the processor that will be two generations past the G4
two and a half years ago, the ibook was at 366 mhz and now it's at 700 mhz
the imac was a crt machine with a G3 and now there's a flat panel lcd and a G4 processor
things have moved forward, but not as fast as the PC world where speeds went from 600 mhz laptops to 2+ ghz laptops in the same price range and there are brand name PC desktops well past 1 ghz that sell for under $500

This sucks.... its interesting but still sucks.
But it can be fixed by possibly: Encrypting (or Changing the way it is encrypted) the AAC file on the transfer from itms to the player.
or force the player to send the authorize code to apple to wrap on their servers before send it back to the player.
If they do the server fix it'll take more than a day.
Does anybody have more of an idea on how the DRM wrapping is done and how the undrmed file is transfered?

it appears that the OSX group's numbers tanked, and remain low at near the same time Macrumors did, while more PC based groups do not show such drops.
do we have any data on what the machine makeup is for MR and OSX, vs. the "PC based groups?"
16 of my 19 CPUs are PCs.
have you looked at the page that shows member participation? perhaps participation dropped and the tinker correlation is coincidental.

Nadyne, will the next version of Office for the Mac sport the Ribbon interface?
It's still pretty early in our development cycle, so I can't talk about specifics about the next version of Office:Mac yet. Watch Mactopia for all of our press releases and product announcements:

It's like a little 5 dollar sword and shield combo from Toys R Us glued on a painted Wii. If that's your cup of tea I know plenty of kids stores that sell that stuff cheap.

Hahahaha..."and I never run out of ammo in Halo...."
I'm indifferent to the mod (it looks like good work, but not my style), but that comment was hi-larious.
