The iEmulator site admits it's built on top of qemu. What's the big deal here, hm?

I think that we'll see the imac get an update before any of the other models.
It would probably mean Apple would have a poor 4th quarter if they do not introduce some sort of upgrade.

I would kill for a scroll wheel. Well maybe not quite kill maybe just mame. Severely! Anyway I've been trying to think of some way to hack a scroll wheel off another mouse and stick it on my Apple Pro Mouse. I think that would be really cool.

I've realised most thieves steal near where they live, as it's where they hang out and see opportunities. (no they've never heard of not ******** in their own nest)
I had my bike (only a month old) stolen last week from my front yard (it was heavily locked and bolted to the wall. They cut through the wall bolts with croppers). I assumed it was gone, until I bumped into a teacher who lives on my road.
She said it was possibly a group of rude boys who live at the end of my road - she said the police had visited her school to talk to them three times in one week.
I had a quick peek in their backyard, and I can see what LOOKS like the back wheel of my bike behind a wall. :mad:
Hmm. Not worth contacting police, I have no proof it's my bike (brought it cash at a market, no receipt, stallholder brought it at a police auction).
I don't fancy going in either, I'm 32 with a daughter and I don't want to get stabbed over a crummy bike. :(

i'm in the same boat as you g-c i've read in different forums about people running bf2 in a different (more standard) resolution, i havent tried it yet as i'm buried in homework :( but maybe you can figure it out (if you do pm me)

I dont see how anyone can say this when I can get a 2.8 GHz custom built speed-demon for 1,300 after shopping around, and I cant get **** from apple for 1,300. Well I could get something, but nothing that compares speed-wise to the pentium 4.
What I meant was for $1899 you get a very fast well built Mac that with the new Os will allow you go right to work, with a DVD burner, a software you can do REAL work with! I agree with you Blue Velvet, you phrase things very well. The problem, I guess comes in how does a designer afford an up-to-date computer, Panther, and Indesign at home on which to learn? (well, legally would be the real question). Furthermore, you cannot switch until the people in charge are prepared to pay for it, a designer cannot just go out and upgrade a business without approval. And when the people in charge are still afraid to spend money and interrupt workflow and upgrade computers and learn new software, well, then you have an agency stuck on OS 9.2. (plus, lets face it, upgrading a small ofiice to OS X and Quark 6 and Adobe CS is going to cost a couple of grand, something a small agency might not have).
I hope the cheaper Quark prices could be some incentive, (as well as the frequent downtime associated with OS 9.2, Quark and old computers) to persuade people that they're loosing more money by not upgrading than they ever will from the downtime associated with switching.

Don't hold your breath. Apple usually keeps the prices constant while upping the specs. Possibly a sale or little special around the holidays but not more I think.

Would it be worth it for me to start folding with my old laptops (mostly g3s) power wise? Also I really want to get the dell IT guys to start folding with our computers at work at night/weekend. It would be hilarious for them to do it for MR! We have hundreds, if not over 1000 of core duos here.

That and Gigaflops isn't a real measure of performance... the Xbox can do more Gigaflops than a G4...
