It's been repaired.
Yes, its working now thank you bousozoku. It was annoying, knew that you would be the correct person to ask. Now if we can just move up in rank. ;)

Not usually, unless you're running Windows XP Home. XP Home needs to be booted into Safe Mode to access the Administrator account. This is one of the many ways in which XP Home is an infuriatingly crippled release.
I'm a bit surprised that the article didn't have the person take ownership of the folder and reassign the permissions that way. There's an option there to recursively replace the ownership on all files and folders within said folder. I believe any Administrator can do this. It seems a bit more logical than uninstalling Quake, restarting, and reinstalling.
I agree. Kim Komando has a nationally syndicated weekly show so i'm surprised nobody on her research team came up with your suggestion. I've listened a few times. She likes Macs, or least I've heard her say positive things about the iMac & Powerbook.

refer back to the pictures of the vaio computer...look at the sides where the keyboard underneath the screen is a little bigger...you'll notice quite a striking resemblance to them being the SAME...just really well photoshop-ed

I had trouble getting it to work at first also. The instructions from FAH were not newbie friendly which I need. Check the link below. The main thing missing from the FAH directions is when it asked for memory the number was HUGE change this to 2048 or how much memory you have. You have gone in the advanced setup. This isn't really necessary for normal folding. If you allocate 64 MB to it when you get that question, it's enough/is the normal ram allocation.

Agree with tyr2, a 2 MB limit is insanely small.
If you have access to the unix command line on both ends (use Terminal on the Mac), you can use the 'split' and 'cat' utilities to split up the file. For example, before transferring, you would do:
split -b 2m file_name
This creates 2-MB files with names 'xaa', 'xab', 'xac', and so on. Transfer them to the host, and then on the host do:
cat x?? > file_name
Of course, if your host is really this limiting on upload sizes, I have a feeling that they don't give you access to the unix command line, and thus this method will not work.

How long (on average) does a WU take to complete? It seems to take a good 10 hours for me.

Do a search and you'll find out that your time here will come to an end if you get the job. However, I would never let this place get in the way of employment.
Also, is the whole movie making thing standard?

Let's see.... why President Carter today???? This news is a few days old.
Why did shipping times for imacs, ibooks and powerbooks change overnight from 7 to 10 days to 1-2 days as posted today?
Are stocks of new products now in warehouses?
I hope so.
Does the posting of President Carter and the revival of "Think Different" have something to do with new products?
I hope not!

Is this new? Haven't seen it before. Seems to go pretty quick, but I don't know if it's quite as fast as standard GROMACS.

if you remember spikey, kela, and john123...that's pretty old school
if you remember when ensign paris was newtonman, that's old school
if you remember when i had way more posts than anybody else and changed my name to networkman...so eyelikeart could take the lead in posts, then you are old school
if you remember blakespot frequently posting here, then you are old school
if you remember the parrot incident, then you are probably still laughing about it:D

Have a read through the hardware rumors and general mac discussion forums, there are already many threads on this topic that may help answer your question.

But we still love your app too much just to let it go, even if Stanford brings out its own version of dual folding!

Just a few details. I can verify the subject of the post is genuine and as far I recall it has been pretty well talked about by Intel and planned for some time. It certainly hasn't been kept secret.
I would however be a touch surprised if it is called the PV. It really is very much an evolution of the PIV and nothing new.
The 1MB Level 2 cache is expected it roughly doubles every fabrication generation improvement at the moment. AMD has already planned the same for the Hammer series. The faster FSB is also nothing new or surprising.
The current PIV has ~55 million transistors though and a rough doubling over a fabrication generational change isn't unexpected.
Really there's nothing new there that Intel hasn't had roadmapped since early 2002 and before.
On the Apple side I have said this before and I will say it again. The G4 core has life. Improvements can be made to easily lift its performance substantially and there are things worth note coming :) Whether they will arrive on time is another matter and whether they will satisfy everybody I can't say but given people are rarely pleased I'd say probably not :p

I think that's true.
Look at the latest ads for Intel, no Ghz is mentioned at all, it focuses on multimedia stuff.
I think Apple had at least some part in that mindset.
They're slowy moving away from Ghz, but still, to do major multimedia stuff, you need speed.

But, just in case, if you do see someone driving without their lights on, it's best to get in first and shoot them dead.Frankly, it's no more than they deserve.

GeOW is miserable for me single player...can't rely on computer intelligence and love having a friend to coordinate with. Some games I buy specifically for gameplay for me (obviously DS titles, etc). Some games I buy specifically because of coop with friends...like Fifa, Winning 11, etc. Rainbow 6 Vegas I bought just for live and to play with some friends back in the states...so it really just boils down to the game.
That said sometimes the coop can be an amazing value I wouldn't have thought of at first. Take GeOW...thought I'd be playing that by myself...turns out it's great for two. I love the added coop fun on Kameo..wouldn't have thought it'd be that way. Also Crackdown is a blast with coop, but wish it allowed two player in the house as well....

I was told close to Christmas, but that was heard from someone who I have no idea whether had accurate information or not. I'm in the position to buy one right now too, but it is so frustrating to not even find a place that MENTIONS that there is such a thing as a planned Mac 9700.

It increases piracy actually...
If you think about it, not everyone here would, but if you can buy a program for like $10 or $15 bucks and you search for it on google and a serial pops up, you wouldn't use it?
Using activation for some people will result in more piracy... dropping $1000 for the CS2 or cracking it for free...
It is so easy now to get the codes on the internet.
And 1000 bucks for a piece of software is a LOT for me, but maby not for people who make a living out of it
