Leading specialist chain GAME has opted not to open at midnight for the PS3 launch this Thursday - following advice from the Metropolitan Police.
The chain's Oxford Street store was originally planning to hold a midnight opening event on Thursday (March 22nd). However, following consultation with the Metopolitan Police - and, given the high value of the PS3 consoles - GAME "has put its customers' safety first" and made the decision to open the store at 7am on Friday (March 23rd). As the GAME statement points out, this will guarantee that gamers have access to public transport and can safely take their consoles home in daylight.
The first 150 gamers to have pre-ordered the PS3 are invited to attend the store at 7am, where they will be greeted with bacon butties, pastries and coffee. They will also have the chance to claim Sony goodie bags.
"The launch of the PS3 is a big deal to our customers," said GAME's marketing director Anna Macario. "We are managing the launch so it is safe for them, and the only thing they have to concentrate on is securing their new console."
HMV has also opted not to open at midnight on Thursday. Virgin Megastores, meanwhile, will be hosted the official launch event at its Oxford Street store.

I got this wierd protein p1108_kiefhaber_. My ibook in my sig has been folding almost 48 hours and its 25% on automatic performance, is it normal? Btw what type of protien is it tinker, gromas etc cuz it isnt listed in the current projects page. My powermac is folding p1109_kiefhaber_ its at 17%.

When my display was set to 1280x960, the animation chops up every now and then, mostly during the turning when it switches sides...
How can I take the menu for this out of the iTunes menu bar? It's already cluttered as it is and it's starting to intrude into my stuff on the right of the menu bar.

Hey,
After going through many of my old games, I ran into Diablo 2 and discovered that the expansion to this game was Mac compatible, though the original discs where not.
I have since gotten a major urge to get back into this game, but to a great annoyance I can't play the fricken thing! Since I own the original discs I morally can obtain it elsewhere (in my eyes anyway) for use on the Mac, but I was curious if when I ran the upgrade (Lord of Destruction) discs, that it will work all good and allow me to go online, get the patches and play multiplayer?
Also I'm not to sure if I'm allowed to ask this here and fair enough if I'm not, is there a place [website] where I can obtain said software... OR is there some patch file that I can get to make my discs Mac compatible?

let me summarize the important stuff: gates paid 5 bil to buy bmg (one of the big 4 music companies) and seperate from sony, so bmg wouldn't be allowed on itunes any more (as the deal runs out soon). so now itunes will be missing half it's music. so then itunes goes in the trash for a lot of users. (recycle bin for them m$ fanbois).. so, if that happens, apple will release its ipod phone, except thier slated carrier is to be sprint, and microsoft is thinking about buying them.

MySpace is an atrocious abomination of blogging and personal webpages. The sites take forever to load (if they load at all), the interfaces are useless, and they automatically start playing crappy low-quality music without even asking.
I try not to think about it because I think it makes my blood pressure rise ;)
I couldn't have said it better myself. Basically MySpace takes the absolute worse of the web & social networking and puts it all in one place. I'm not oppose to social sites, heck I'm a member of a few myself and they can be very useful & fun. MySpace just seems to have found the absolute peak of tacky-ness though.

The Dell Flat Panel 20inch is looking good now!
I have to switch between a G4, Dell and an SVHS (XBox, DVD, PS2 the works) for what I do (3D and Video).
Just found out that the Dell one can hold all three and switch betweend and get this....you can do picture in picture with the SVHS input as well!!!
Way cool if with a 1600x1200 rez:O)

Yeah, I registered in November, but it took me a while to get around to posting, lurking and watching. I was getting married in December and had a ton of freelance going at the time, so I really didn't have much time available.
Ah, yes the '100 Mega Ton Rumor Bomb' - I liked that - and it was appropriate, I still don't get Apple's whole hyping the rumors thing, it was very weird - I wonder if they'll ever do that again.

When it comes to captivating casual gamers, control needs to be simple and intuitive, and the Cooking Mama franchise needs to evolve to do that. We could rant all day about what technically works and why 1:1 motion is important, but in the end it’s an issue of whether or not the game is fun, inviting, and entertaining. The overall consensus; it’s still a fun game, as long as you can ignore some of its faults. The inviting presentation will still bring people in, it’ll still be a blast for certain gamers, and the act of doing motion-controlled cooking pantomime will be a hit with the younger crowd and a niche group of gamers. At the same time, the series has a long way to go before it really “feels right” on Wii, and if nothing else Cooking Mama: Cook Off can act as that first step towards an inevitable improvement. We love the series, but we simply can’t endorse this one. Here’s hoping for a sequel that truly innovates around the controller, rather than borrowing from DS control.

The charming Cooking Mama look and feel hits Wii in full effect. New dishes, new preparation techniques, and a new vs. mode. Not bad.

The game has style, but it also has low-res food, a very basic look, and visuals comparable to DS. It in no way pushes the system. 480p and 16:9 supported though.

Classic tunes and Cooking Mama “Engrish” throughout. It’s basic by design, but basic nonetheless.

Some of the motions transition decently to Wii, while others are best kept on DS. The tactile feel is lost, and with it the game’s immersion. Vs. mode is a definite step in the right direction
6.0 Lasting Appeal
There’s plenty to do, and the vs. mode is a plus, but there’s less pure entertainment in the act of making food with the Wii remote.

Yeah, I've already read through both of those. Besides, we'll have countless posts about the iMac over the next few months. Heck, an updated iMac could come at any time. We might see a new iMac a week or two into October, we might not see them until MWSF.
Perhaps if I had titled this "iMac Rumor Roundup," this post might not seem superflous.

Hey, welcome to the posting side of things. :)
Personally, I would definitely wait and see what they have in store come January. I doubt they'll be packing a G4, but at the very least there's be a better graphics card, maybe more RAM and bigger hard drives... and Jaguar will be pre-loaded, for sure. And the screen size change rumors will be interesting to see what happens there. There's been some talk about built-in Bluetooth too, but from the sounds of it it's still a ways off so it probably won't make it in the next revision either, but we can still stay hopeful there...
I'm looking to get a new iBook as well, and I'm definitely willing to wait a few more months.
